Favorite Golden Globe Fashions (and why)
by Stacey
This was the year that I started watching television again. Therefore, it was confusing that my two favorite shows, Homeland and Scandal, seemed to play no part at the Golden Globes.
Therefore, I decided to focus on the dresses.
Here are my top 5 favorites and why I liked them.
Clearly Amy Adams really liked the way she looked in American Hustle and she decided to wear more of the same. As a girl who wishes she could still wear a uniform, I admire Adam’s desire to stick with something that worked.
Clearly, Sofia Vergara has a body to support whatever the heck she puts on so I love the fact that she went with basic black.
A simple and perfect dress. Just like Jennifer Lawrence.
Lupita Nyong’o’s red dress is stunning but the cut is even more incredible. I am not quite sure how she pulled off a cape without looking like a super hero but she did it.
I’m not sure why but Margot Robbies’s was my favorite. Maybe it’s the simplicity with the little bit of bling? Maybe it’s the slit. Maybe it’s the neck line (what there is of it)? Not sure why, but I love it.
My favorite is Amy Adams’ red gown. GORGEOUS! Did you watch American Hustle? We thought it sounded good, but weren’t able to fit it in. I guess we’ll wait until it’s released on DVD.
We did see American Hustle. It is great- and Amy Adams wears dresses like these the entire time! I kept waiting for a ‘wardrobe malfunction!’
I didn’t see the show but Amy Adams’ dress is divine! This is my first time seeing it. I had seen Jennifer Lawrence’s dress circulating around photos on the internet.
It really was so pretty! And so in keeping with her movie role which I don’t think I have seen before…
All gorgeous — and I just loved that necklace that Sofia is wearing. I’m not a statement piece person myself, but I could be convinced with that one.
I agree! Her necklace was gorgeous!
I’m so glad you did this post! I was dealing with a difficult bedtime and didn’t get to watch the Golden Globes at all, but I saw all the hubbub about it on Twitter, so I’m glad to finally see the dresses. I just love Jennifer Lawrence… so classy! And she gets big points in my book for having her first major movie be based in the Ozarks (Winter’s Bone).
